A choreographer based in Long Island, NY, Olivia Hathaway Swanson joined the College Light Opera Company (CLOC) in Falmouth, Massachusetts, in 2023. As the company’s choreographer, she provides CLOC with essential services, designing and overseeing the dance and overall movement for each production. In many cases, Olivia Hathaway Swanson serves as the production’s assistant director.
A few of her specific duties as a choreographer include working with actors of varying skill levels and supporting the associate artistic director with movement-based blocking, dance styles, and other production matters. Ms. Swanson presides over technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, weekly and weekend matinee performances, and special community events, such as CLOC performances at the Falmouth Juneteenth Celebration and Independence Day Concert.
Ms. Swanson holds a degree in theater with minors in musical theater and dance from Manhattanville University in NY. She also earned a communications degree. Her campus activities included working as a tour guide and performing extensive community service.
